Expatriates continue to play vital roles in foreign lands, significantly contributing to the global dissemination of their homeland’s culture and sports. In a testament to this influence, the “Village Cup-2024” football tournament, sponsored by Your Dream Home Care, was held in New York’s Ozone Park.
Organized by Bianibazar Sporting Club USA, the tournament took place in the heart of Ozone Park, a neighborhood with a substantial Bangladeshi population. The event was marked by a lively and competitive atmosphere, with Your Dream Home Care serving as the grand sponsor.
Your Dream Home Care, known for supporting various events and social activities within the Bangladeshi community, has also been instrumental in encouraging Bengali youth through numerous initiatives. This year, the organization extended its support to Bianibazar Sporting Club’s “Village Cup-2024” tournament, reflecting its ongoing commitment to community engagement.
The tournament attracted expatriates from across New York, eager to witness the football match. Among the notable attendees were M. A. Aziz, twice-elected President and three-time Chairman of the Trustee Board of the Bangladesh Society, and the proprietor of Your Dream Home Care. Prominent businessman Anwarul Azim Selim, community leaders, Bangladesh Society officials, and other distinguished guests also graced the event.
“Sports strengthen mutual relationships and are essential for the physical and mental well-being and creativity of the youth,” said M. A. Aziz. “I am the oldest Bangladeshi resident in Ozone Park. Currently, many Bangladeshis live here, and today it feels like a mini Bangladesh. I am your friend, one of your own.”
He further added, “Your Dream Home Care is your organization. I sincerely say that I did not start this home care business for personal gain. I entered this business to support the community. I am with you and will continue to be in the future.”
Morshed Ahmed Shipon, Director of Your Dream Home Care, expressed his delight, stating, “Today, I am very happy to have presented such a game. A large audience has come to enjoy the match. I thank those who organized such an event in a foreign land.”
Anwarul Azim Selim also thanked the tournament organizers and expressed hope for future events.
The winning team, Choto Desh, was awarded trophies and crests, while contributors to the game received special recognition.
Among the attendees were Abdul Mannan, President of Bianibazar Association, Ataur Rahman Selim, former General Secretary of Bangladesh Society, and Hasan Sohag, Office Secretary of the Sports Council, among others.
